Terms of Use

By using the Yudum website and IRC network you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

1. The service

Yudum is a free, non-commercial chat community that has been running since 1998. There is no charge, and no payment is ever requested from you. You may use most of the site without an account; an account is needed to reserve a nickname, keep a profile, join groups and use private messaging.

2. Acceptable use

You may use the network for lawful purposes only. Harassment, threats, hate speech, spam, unsolicited advertising, distribution of malware, and the sharing of unlawful or infringing material are prohibited. The community rules set out the detail and form part of these terms — see Chat Rules.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done through your account. Choose a password you do not use anywhere else. Tell us immediately if you believe someone else has access to it. Do not impersonate another person, and do not register a nickname in order to hold it away from someone else.

Age limit. You must be at least 18 to use the service. The date of birth you give when you sign up must be accurate; accounts found to belong to someone under 18 are suspended.

4. Content you post

You keep the rights to what you write. By posting it on Yudum you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display it as part of the service. You are responsible for what you post; Yudum does not monitor every message in advance and is not liable for user content. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the community rules.

5. Moderation and sanctions

Operators may warn, kick, ban or network-ban an account or address that breaks the rules. Where a sanction is applied by mistake you can appeal through our contact page.

6. Availability

We aim to keep the service running continuously but cannot guarantee it. Yudum may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service. The service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Yudum is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service, nor for content posted by users. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Ending use

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Turkish law, and the courts of Türkiye have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the EEA or the UK, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The current version is always published on this page.
