Topics Profile

This English text is provided for information only; the binding version is the Turkish one: Turkish original

Where is your profile?

Click your name in the top menu, or go straight to /profil, to see your own profile. Someone else's is at /profil/nickname โ€” clicking a name in chat or in the feed takes you there too.

What appears on a profile

  • Avatar, name and badges at the top. Badges mark effort and contribution; they cannot be bought.
  • About โ€” your short introduction, age, location and website, if you filled them in.
  • Counts โ€” posts, followers and following. On your own profile, clicking a count opens the list.
  • Groups โ€” the groups you founded, administer or belong to, shown as badges; click one to open the group page.
  • Posts โ€” your own posts, listed below as a feed.

What do guests see? Someone who is not signed in sees only your avatar, your name and your badges. Your about text, age, groups, friend list and posts are visible to members only. In other words, your profile does not leak personal details to search engines.

Editing your profile

The โ€œEdit profileโ€ button on your own profile takes you to /ayarlar, which has five sections:

  • Avatar โ€” upload an image from your computer or pick one of the ready-made avatars.
  • Profile โ€” your name, about text, location, age, website and similar fields.
  • Privacy โ€” โ€œShow my e-mail on my profileโ€ and โ€œShow my age on my profileโ€. Both start off; nobody sees them unless you turn them on.
  • E-mail โ€” for password recovery. We recommend filling it in; if you forget your password it is the only way back.
  • Change password โ€” enter your current password and choose a new one. The new password must be at least 8 and at most 32 characters and must not be a common one.

Everything you save takes effect immediately, both on the site and in chat โ€” there is one account, so there is nothing to update twice.

Editing from WebChat

In WebChat, click your own card at the top left and then โ€œProfile settingsโ€ to edit the same fields. Account settings (password, e-mail, auto-join, language) live under โ€œChat settingsโ€.
