Following and friendship are not the same

They work separately and do different jobs:

  • Following is one-way. You do not need permission; that person's posts start appearing in your feed. They are under no obligation to follow you back.
  • Friendship is mutual. You send a request, and if the other person accepts you become friends. Friends appear in each other's friend list, and some posts are visible to friends only.

Following someone

Go to a profile (/profil/nickname) and press โ€œ+ Followโ€ at the top right. The button becomes โ€œFollowingโ€; hover over it and it reads โ€œUnfollowโ€, which stops it.

You can see who you follow and who follows you on /arkadaslar. To read only the people you follow, use the Following tab in the feed.

Adding a friend

  1. Go to the person's profile.
  2. Press โ€œAdd friendโ€ โ€” the request is sent and the button becomes โ€œRequest sentโ€.
  3. They get a notification. If they accept you become friends; if they decline nothing happens and you are not told separately.

Requests you receive appear on /arkadaslar and in your notifications, and you accept or decline them with one click. Ending a friendship works the same way, with โ€œRemove friendโ€ โ€” the other person is not notified.

From chat (WebChat)

Right-click a nickname in the user list or in the conversation: the menu has Add / remove friend, Follow / unfollow, Block and Private message. The tabs in the profile box on the left (My feed ยท Friends ยท Following ยท Groups ยท Status) give you the lists.

Blocking

Someone you block cannot send you private messages or interact with you. Blocking is silent โ€” they are not told they have been blocked.

If someone is bothering you, do not stop at blocking: report them, from the right-click menu in chat or the ๐Ÿšฉ Report link under a post or comment on the site. Reports go to the moderators.

The same thing with IRC commands

/ss FOLLOWERS โ€” your followers
