Ahmet Kostarika

Ahmet Turgutlu is a cinema actor who was born in Istanbul in 1927 and died in the same city on June 14, 1994. This colorful actor, whose family origins are in Africa, began to be known as "Costarika Ahmet" over time and became known to a wide audience with this name. The first film in Kostariki's career, "ฤฐpsala Cinayeti", was released in 1952.

Kostariki, who appeared in almost two hundred films from the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s, generally found himself in supporting roles. The artist, who appeared before the audience in almost all of the adventure, drama and comedy films shot during this period, attracted attention with his mastery in taking on different types of characters.

Films such as "Cyprus Martyrs", "Bitter Zeytin", "Polished Ibo and Forty Thieves", "ร‡anakkale Lions" and "Against the Law", in which he participated between 1960 and 1964, brought his name to wider audiences.

Kostariki, who worked in YeลŸilรงam's most productive periods, is known for the experience he gained after long hours spent on movie sets, and has proven that he is capable of capturing the tone required by every role. Although the artist, who passed away in 1994, had a labor-intensive cinema life, he always preferred to work in the background and gained an unforgettable place thanks to this stance.

For old cinema enthusiasts, Kostarika Ahmet continues to live in memories as not only an actor but also a symbol of the characteristic atmosphere of that period.
