Betül Arım was born on July 16, 1954 in Çemişgezek district of Tunceli. Due to his officer father's duty, he spent his childhood in various parts of Anatolia, and when he had difficulty in English class in high school, he took the exams of the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory Theater Department. He stepped onto the stage at Istanbul City Theaters in 1973, while he was still a conservatory student, and continued his theater career by taking part in more than fifty plays until 2004; In 2000, she was nominated for the Avni Dilligil Best Supporting Actress Award for her performance as Firdevs Hanım in the play 'Aşk-ı Memnu'.
Arım, who has made his voice heard in hundreds of films, TV series and commercials since the 1970s as a voice actor, also presented television programs. He aired 80 episodes of the program called 'Göz Önnde' (2006) on TRT2 and 120 episodes of the culture-art program 'Betül Arım'la Ben de Varım' (2010) on Tempo TV.

After the couple divorced in 1980, she married actor Ali Karagöz, and their daughter Melissa Karagöz was born from this union; both children pursued acting careers. Her third marriage was with Volkan Saraçoğlu.
