Julia Karin Ormond was born on January 4, 1965 in Epsom, Surrey, England. After studying at art school, he turned to acting and graduated from the prestigious Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Ormond, who started his career on theater stages, took on various roles on British television. In particular, he first attracted attention with the miniseries "Traffik" (1989), which was later adapted into a movie in Hollywood.
He broke into Hollywood in the early 1990s, but it was the epic drama "Legends of the Fall" (1994), starring Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins, that turned him into an international star. After this film, he soon cemented his place in Hollywood by working with the biggest stars of the period: He starred in "First Knight" (1995) with Sean Connery and Richard Gere, and in "Sabrina" (1995), the remake of the classic film, with Harrison Ford. With these films, she became one of the most sought-after actresses in the mid-90s.
Towards the end of the 1990s, he made a change in his career and turned to more independent and international projects. He starred in films such as the Russian production "The Barber of Siberia" (1998), directed by Nikita Mikhalkov, and "Inland Empire" (2006), directed by David Lynch. However, he achieved a new wave of success with his television performances in the 2000s.
She won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie for her role as Eustacia Grandin in the 2010 HBO movie "Temple Grandin." This award revealed his talent once again.
Following this success, Ormond, who received another Emmy nomination for her guest role in the series "Mad Men", continued her presence on television by taking on important roles in series such as "Witches of East End" (2013-2014) and "The Walking Dead: World Beyond" (2020-2021). In addition to her acting career, Julia Ormond is known as an activist who has been fighting for human rights and especially against human trafficking for many years.
