Liza Rebecca Weil is an American actress born June 5, 1977. She is best known for her role as Paris Geller in the hit WB/CW comedy-drama series Gilmore Girls and its sequel Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, which aired on Netflix in 2016. She is also etched in viewers' memories as White House aide Amanda Tanner in ABC's political drama series Scandal and as lawyer Bonnie Winterbottom in the long-running legal drama How to Get Away with Murder.
Weil was born in Passaic, New Jersey, into an acting family. He grew up in Reform Judaism and still maintains his beliefs as a part of his life. Mother Lisa and father Marc went on a European tour with the comedy group The Madhouse Company of London; This paved the way for Liza to spend a childhood intertwined with the stage.
Watching the Indiana Jones series at a young age and admiring Harrison Ford made him dream of becoming an archaeologist one day.
When he was seven, the family moved to Lansdale, Pennsylvania; his parents still reside there. Describing herself as an average student during her school years, Weil often states that she wants to focus on her acting career. To this end, he frequently traveled to New York for professional auditions and performed in a variety of roles off-Broadway and in Philadelphia's local theater companies before launching his career.
