Macit Flordun, one of the valuable names of our theater and cinema world, was born in Vidin in 1939 and passed away in Istanbul in 1996. Macit Flordun, the father of artist Tardu Flordun, studied music and theater at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory in his youth. Although he enrolled in the music department of the conservatory in 1956, he decided to leave this path a year later.
Flordun, who started his artistic career in state theaters a short time later, never left the stage for about fourteen years. He stepped into the world of cinema in 1975 and also worked as a voice actor in his early days. He even attracted attention by voicing four different characters at the same time in a TV series.
Explaining his transition to cinema with the words "Although it was difficult to adapt to cinema after working on the stage for so many years, I felt the need to get rid of the restrictions imposed by Ankara and gain a new environment," the artist expressed the motivation behind this decision by saying, "As soon as I found a producer with whom I could bring innovation to myself and the cinema and take part in productions other than sex films, I signed on without thinking."
Macit Flordun, who won the "Best Supporting Actor" award in his career in Yeลilรงam with the 1980 film "Huzurum Kalmasฤฑd", also served as an actor, director and manager at the State Theatres. Another important success of his artistic life was that he was deemed worthy of the "Praiseworthy" award by the Art Lovers Association in 1969 for his performance in the play "The Price".
