AION 2 Playtest

AION 2 is an open-world MMORPG developed by NC (formerly NCSOFT) as the sequel to AION, released in 2009. This page is for the test version that opened on Steam before launch; the game went live worldwide for free on October 5, 2026, on Steam and NC's PURPLE launcher.
Built in Unreal Engine 5, the game asks you to pick one of two sides: the Elyos or the Asmodians. Its map is many times larger than the original's, and flying is at the heart of getting around; on your wings you travel between valleys, cities and skies.
There are eight classes: the Templar tank, the melee Gladiator, the Cleric healer, the supporting Chanter, the ranged Ranger, the stealthy burst-damage Assassin, the Sorcerer mage and the summoning Spiritmaster.
Quests, dungeons and the war between the two sides form the backbone of the game. Console versions have been announced, but no date has been given yet.
