Most dreams do not last as far as the morning coffee. But a feeling is left behind: peace, unease, longing or an urgency that cannot be explained. The tradition of dream interpretation is really an effort to give that feeling a name.

This quiz does not ask which dream you had — because you do not remember it anyway. It asks how you have been falling asleep, what you feel when you wake up and what has been occupying your mind lately.
