Most horoscope readings start from your birth date. This quiz does not: it asks you twelve questions and draws a character out of the answers you give. The result may or may not turn out to be your own sign — for most people it does not.

How it is calculated

We use astrology's own internal logic. The twelve signs are grouped in two ways: element (fire, earth, air, water) and modality (cardinal, fixed, mutable). The first four questions measure which element you are close to, the next four which modality you are close to. Where the two intersect, a single sign is left.

So the result is not random; if you chose the fire element and the fixed modality, Leo comes out and nothing else can.
