Barbaros Hayrettin, whose real name is Hayrettin รneลol, is a Turkish singer, songwriter, composer and drummer. He became known in Tรผrkiye with the song "I Am Your Father", released in 1996.
groups in Germany
He went to Germany for education in 1979. In the same year, he founded the group called Sultana there. In 1980, he formed Kobra with Adnan Bayrakรงฤฑ, Nedim รnal and Fevzi Bineytioฤlu. The group released its only album, Orient-Express, in 1983, then disbanded.
solo period
In his solo career, he released the album Allah Bereket Versin under the Tรผrkรผola label in 1992. His real breakthrough was with I Am Your Father, released by Atlantis Music in 1996. รneลol explained that he designed this song as a deliberately extreme piece, as a reaction to the record companies in Tรผrkiye rejecting Kobra's work.
The song became very popular in a short time, but this interest did not last long. In 1998, Tarak was released, also by Atlantis Music. In 2018, he released I Am Your Father II under the Gloss label.
The artist, who lives in Berlin, worked to revive Cobra in the following years.
