Hayko, real name Hayฤฑk Aram Tataryan, one of the most colorful names of Turkish music, began to make a name for himself in the crowded streets of the city where he was born in 1949. Although he was interested in basketball at a young age, the artist, who could no longer resist the call of music, met with the audience by appearing on stage at weddings and entertainment venues since 1964.

Hayko, who continued his passion for music during his military service, started performing professionally after military service and soon started appearing in the most famous taverns of Istanbul.

Hayko, who made his name known to a wider audience with the support of Safiye Ayla in 1968, gave programs in Maksim, Lunapark and Taksim casinos, which became an entertainment empire at that time. He became one of the first artists to appear on TRT with the songs he sang in both Armenian and Greek. Hayko, who also attracted attention with his stage performances, became the symbol of an era with the wide-leg trousers he wore, ruffled shirts and the shows he performed accompanied by the tambourine in his hand.

The artist, who was known by the nickname "Buruk Acฤฑ" in the 1980s, became one of the most loved names by the audience during this period. While his Armenian song "Sude Sude" received great acclaim, the version of the same song "Her ลžey Yalan", adapted into Turkish by Zรผhrap Bรผyรผk, was also released on vinyl. In addition, the artist, who sang "Mavi Boncuk", written with the words of รœlkรผ Aker, in Turkish for the first time and helped this song reach a wider audience with Emel Sayฤฑn's film, also made a name for herself with her work "Nazlฤฑ" in the same period.

In addition to his music career, Hayko also came to the fore with his private life. The artist, who has been married three times, has a son named Alex and a daughter named Aslฤฑ Mavitan. While Aslฤฑ currently works as an announcer, the artist lives at home in ฤฐรงmeler town of Marmaris with his third wife, Serpil Tataryan.
