Altan Erbulak was born in Erzurum on November 11, 1929 and died in Istanbul on May 1, 1988. Since his father was a major, he spent his childhood in different cities of Anatolia; His mother was a Bulgarian immigrant. Together with his sister Bilgi, he went from Bakırköy Secondary School to Işık High School, then to Tophane Men's Art Institute and Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts (İDGSA). After completing his military service, he graduated from the painting department in 1950.
Erbulak settled in Babıali in 1943 and a year later he published his first cartoon in Markopaşa magazine. He joined Akbaba magazine in 1947 and started his acting career in 1954 with the movie Son Baskin, produced by Ahmet Üstel. In the same year, he joined Yeni Sabah newspaper; She played the leading role in the movie Gelin Ayşem with Sadık Şendil's words "I wrote a script for you".
Erbulak, who gained his amateur theater experience at Bakırköy Community Center, appeared on the professional stage at Pocket Theater in 1954, upon the insistence of Haldun Dormen.
Her first marriage was with Altan Aşkın in 1955; They had a daughter from marriage and named her Altan. When their daughter was accepted to Ankara University State Conservatory at the age of 16, she changed her name to Ayşe at the suggestion of Cüneyt Gökçer. In 1964, he married Füsun Şahin (Erbulak). In 1971, Füsun Erbulak, Nevra Serezli and Metin Serezli founded "Kocamustafapaşa Çevre Theatre" together and opened the first theater outside Beyoğlu-Şişli; When this structure closed in 1978, he acted and directed in various companies.
Erbulak, who is also known as a cartoonist, published works in many magazines and newspapers such as Markopaşa, Yeni Sabah, Akbaba, Gırgır, Milliyet; He also met with readers with his articles titled Stone Cart and Altanca. He introduced characters such as "Hürmuz and Cafer" and "Kibar Hırsız" to Turkish humor; He also illustrated the comic book of Orhan Boran's radio character Yuki.
In the 1970s, he strengthened his place in the cinema world by voicing the character of "Clerk" in Italian Franco eCiccio films.
Erbulak, who also stepped into TV, hosted programs such as "Let's Eat Sweet Let's Talk Sweetly", broadcast together with Halit Kıvanç for many years, and made the audience laugh with his New Year's skits. After attending BBC television training courses, he prepared programs such as "Feisty Gemisi", "Test Television", "The Driver Who Knows Wins" for TRT. His interest in technology is remembered with Cihan Demirci's words "Electronics...".
