Michael Keaton

Michael Keaton was born on September 5, 1951, in the town of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, United States. Keaton, whose real name is Michael John Douglas, grew up with his three brothers and three sisters. After graduating from Montour High School, he started acting at the age of 25.
Keaton, who started his acting career, decided to change his surname to avoid confusion with the famous actor Michael Douglas. After seeing a picture of Diane Keaton, whom he greatly admired at the time, he came up with his new surname and thus became known as Michael Keaton. This name was later officially adopted and became Keaton's identity in the art world.
Keaton, who first appeared in television series, transitioned to cinema over time. His first film, "Night Shift" (1982), was a comedy production. Keaton began to make his mark in both the television and film worlds, particularly showcasing his talent in comedy. Although the films he starred in during this period were not a great success, Keaton became known as a mediocre comedian.
A turning point in Keaton's career was the movie "Beetlejuice" (1988), directed by Tim Burton. Keaton, who played Beetlejuice, a grumpy, funny and crazy ghost in this movie, fascinated the audience. This film, created by Tim Burton's imagination, featured famous actors such as Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis along with Keaton's performance. The film received positive reviews and boosted Keaton's career.
After Beetlejuice, Keaton appeared in a dramatic role. In "Clean and Sober" (1988), he surprised the audience with a sharp turn. This film allowed Keaton to expand his acting range and proved that he could succeed in different genres.
Reuniting with Tim Burton, Keaton was this time cast in the lead role in the movie "Batman" (1989). Keaton's casting as Batman in the adaptation of the famous comic book series created a huge controversy. Batman fans thought that Keaton, who was known as a comedian, was not suitable for this role. However, Keaton did not disappoint Burton's trust and portrayed Bruce Wayne with a successful performance. This role brought great success and recognition to Keaton's career.
