Supercell's colourful multiplayer shooter Brawl Stars mixes 3v3 team modes and battle royale into matches of a few minutes, and has been live worldwide since December 2018.
What is Brawl Stars?
Brawl Stars is a mobile multiplayer action game developed and published by Supercell, the Finnish studio behind Clash of Clans. Players control Brawlers with their own attacks and Super moves. After a long soft launch it went global on 12 December 2018.
How to play
A twin-stick layout moves and aims. Modes include Gem Grab, Showdown (battle royale), Brawl Ball, Heist and Bounty, plus 5v5 matches mentioned on the store listing.
Platforms and business model
Available on Android and iOS, free with in-app purchases including random items. Rated PEGI 7 on Google Play (Turkey) and 13+ on the App Store.
Turkish language and Turkey
The App Store lists Turkish, the Google Play Turkey description is in Turkish, and Supercell offers a Turkish parents' guide. No official information on Turkish voice-over was found.
Why it became popular
Easy to learn but hard to master, with short matches and strong character design that fuelled fan art and creator videos. Supercell's Brawl Stars World Championship carries its esports scene.
