What is Free Fire?
Free Fire is a mobile battle royale published by Singapore-based Garena and originally developed by Vietnam's 111dots Studio. Its Google Play listing dates to 23 November 2017. In July 2021 Garena announced it was the first mobile battle royale to pass 1 billion downloads on Google Play.
How to play
Fifty players land on an island, gather gear and fight to be the last survivor as the safe zone shrinks. Characters and pets have unique abilities, and a shorter four-versus-four Clash Squad mode is also available.
Platforms and business model
Available on Android and iOS, free to play, funded by in-app purchases that include random items. Rated PEGI 12 on Google Play (Turkey) and 13+ on the App Store.
Turkish language and Turkey
The App Store lists Turkish as a supported language. The official site groups Turkey under an English-language MEA region. No official information on Turkish voice-over or a Turkish server was found.
Why it became popular
