Total War: SHOGUN 2
Lead a clan in feudal Japan and try to unite the country under one banner in this turn-based strategy and real-time battle game.
Total War: SHOGUN 2 is a strategy game released by The Creative Assembly in 2011. It is set in 16th-century Japan, during the Sengoku period, when the country was split among warring lords.
You choose a clan and take charge of it. In the turn-based campaign on the map you develop your provinces, collect taxes, make alliances and send out agents such as spies and assassins. Your goal is to take Kyoto and be named shogun.
When armies meet, the game switches to real-time battles. You position archers, spear-armed ashigaru and samurai cavalry to suit the terrain, and try to break through the walls in castle sieges.
With its clean, focused design, it is regarded as one of the best-loved games in the Total War series.
