V Rising is Stunlock Studios' top-down vampire survival game. You wake up as a weakened vampire after centuries of sleep and, in the dark fantasy world of Vardoran, drink blood to regain power, build your castle, gather servants and hunt the land's mightiest creatures one by one. It blends survival, base building and action role-playing.
This guide is for players who have just bought the game and keep burning in the sun, don't know where to build a castle, or can't tell why their blood meter keeps dropping. The Journal in the top left guides you, but some rules are never spelled out.
Below you'll find the goal of the game, the default PC controls, what to do in your first hours, concrete tips, common mistakes and answers to frequently asked questions.
The core loop: gather resources (wood, stone, bone, ore), use them to craft better gear and castle structures, then, once your Gear Level is high enough, hunt a stronger V Blood carrier. According to the community wiki, V Blood carriers are special enemies on the map; drinking their blood unlocks new spells, vampire powers, blueprints and recipes. Progression is built around these hunts.
Being a vampire comes with rules. Your blood pool drains over time; you refill it by feeding, and the type of blood you drink (Worker, Brute, Rogue, Creature and so on) gives different bonuses. The sun burns you during the day, so you need to learn to stay in shade. Carrying silver and exposure to garlic are further weaknesses. Your castle grows around the Castle Heart, which starts to decay if it isn't fed Blood Essence.
Is V Rising available in Turkish?
Yes. According to the Steam page's language list it supports a Turkish interface and subtitles; Turkish voice-over is not listed.
Can I play alone?
Yes. You can start your own private game and play solo, or host a server to play with friends. There are PvE servers (players can't attack each other) and PvP servers too.
What happens when I die?
The wiki says dying costs 1 litre from your blood pool and you respawn at your coffin or a chosen point. How much of your inventory drops depends on server settings.
What should I do during the day?
Daytime is a good time for crafting, building and organising your castle. If you have to go out, move through shade; the wiki notes some carriers' arenas have cloud cover.
Which platforms is it on?
V Rising launched on PC (Steam), and a PlayStation 5 version followed later.
Do I have to do quests in order?
According to the wiki, Journal quests can be completed in any order, but only one is shown at a time. For a new player, following the displayed order is the easiest route.
