What's in a guide?

Every guide follows the same order, so you know where to look whichever game you pick:

  • Goal of the game: a short intro to what you actually do and the core loop.
  • Controls: a table of keys and what they do.
  • First steps: what to do in your first hours, in order.
  • Tips and tactics: concrete advice once you have found your feet.
  • Common mistakes and the questions players ask most.

Which version is it written for?

Games change with patches: keys get rebound and numbers shift. That is why every guide ends with the month and game version it was written for. Unless stated otherwise, the controls are the default PC settings, so if you changed your key bindings the table may not match yours.

Between the guide and the game page

Besides PC games, the guides cover mobile titles. Each guide links back to the game's own page, where you will find the overview, videos and, for PC games, system requirements. Going the other way, the page of a game that has a guide, such as Valheim, takes you straight to it. The full list, including games without a guide, is in the Games section.

Frequently asked questions

Why don't the keys in the guide match my game?

The Controls table shows the default settings for the version noted at the end of the guide. If you changed your bindings in the game's settings, or a later patch changed the defaults, you may see differences.

Which game version is a guide written for?

Each guide ends with the month and game version it was written for. The list itself is sorted with the most recently updated guide on top.

Are the guides only for PC games?

No. Alongside games played on a computer through their own launcher, there are guides for mobile titles as well.

Do the guides include cheats or mods?

No. The guides explain how to play by the game's own rules; there are no cheats, exploits or mod download links.

How do I get back to the game's own page?

Every guide links to it at the top and at the bottom. There you will find the overview, videos and, for PC games, the system requirements.
