How to book a notary appointment in Türkiye

A step-by-step walkthrough: signing in with your e-Devlet credentials, picking a notary office and time slot, cancelling an appointment, and which notarial transactions can be done without visiting the office.

How to book a notary appointment in Türkiye

Powers of attorney, signature certifications, certified translations and formal notices all require a trip to a notary office, and at busy hours the queue can be long. That is exactly why the Turkish Notaries Union runs the e-Randevu / Başvuru (e-Appointment / Application) system: you pick a day and a time slot and skip the queue.

The system is open around the clock, requires no membership, and you sign in with your e-Devlet identity. If you hold a secure electronic signature, some transactions can even be started without visiting the office at all. Below you will find how to book the appointment from start to finish, what to take with you, and how to cancel it if your plans change.

🧰 What you need

  • Your Turkish ID (T.C.) number
  • An e-Devlet sign-in method: e-Devlet password, mobile signature, electronic signature, Turkish ID card or internet banking
  • A working e-mail address and phone number
  • The original documents your transaction requires
  • A secure electronic signature, if you want to complete the transaction remotely

Steps

  1. Pin down the transaction and the documents it needs First be clear about what you are having done: a power of attorney, a signature certification, a certified translation or a formal notice. The paperwork required differs from one transaction to another, so call the notary office you plan to visit and ask exactly which documents to bring. Showing up with something missing means the appointment is wasted.
  2. Find the appointment service on e-Devlet Open turkiye.gov.tr, type "noter" into the search box and pick the service listed as "Türkiye Noterler Birliği / e-Randevu / Başvuru". The service connects you to the Turkish Notaries Union appointment system. You can also reach the same system through the Union's own website, tnb.org.tr.
  3. Verify your identity If you are not signed in yet, the page shows a "Kimliğimi Şimdi Doğrula" (Verify My Identity Now) button; click it. On the sign-in screen choose one of the methods offered: e-Devlet password, mobile signature, electronic signature, Turkish ID card or internet banking. The e-Devlet password is the most common route. Once verification finishes you are taken to the appointment screen.
  4. Choose one of the three application types The system offers three options: an appointment for a transaction to be signed by hand at the notary office, an appointment for a transaction to be signed with an electronic signature at the office, and an application for a transaction handled without visiting the office at all. If you will go in and sign on paper, tick the first option. If you hold an electronic signature and your transaction is one of those allowed remotely, consider the third.
  5. Pick the notary office, the day and the time Select the notary office you want from the list; if you have no particular office in mind, the system helps you find the nearest ones. Then tick an available day and time slot that suits you. Because the system is open day and night, you can create the appointment in the evening or at the weekend.
  6. Enter the transaction and contact details correctly Fill in the details of the transaction and your contact information. Type your e-mail address carefully: once the application is submitted the system generates an application number and sends it to the address you entered. Make sure the phone number is right too, as the office may call you about a missing document.
  7. Go on the day with your ID Take an official photo ID with you: a Turkish ID card, an old-style identity booklet, a passport or a driving licence are accepted, because the notary is legally required to establish your identity. Keep your application number and the transaction documents to hand. For transactions such as a power of attorney, the identity details of the other party are needed as well, so prepare those too.
  8. Update or cancel the appointment if you need to If your plans change, sign in again, open your application and update or cancel it. As long as the notary office has not approved the application, you can make that change yourself. If it has already been approved, or time is short, phone the office directly; do not simply leave the slot unused, since someone else could take it.
  9. Know which transactions can be done remotely Not everything can be handled from home. Translations, registrations, formal findings, issuing certified copies, ledger certifications and notices that need no signature certification do not require your presence before the notary, so a secure electronic signature lets you handle them remotely. Transactions that the law ties to an official form or a special ceremony, and guarantee agreements, cannot be executed with a secure electronic signature; for those you must go to the office.
