Alev Sezer

Alev Sezer was a theatre, cinema and TV series actor, as well as a voice-over artist, who was born on April 23, 1945 in Istanbul and died in the same city on September 3, 1997, at the age of 52. After graduating from the Department of Theater at Ankara State Conservatory, he joined the Ankara State Theater in 1970 and became a member of the staff of the Istanbul State Theater in 1981.

While he took part in many plays on the theater stage, he also directed some productions; During this period, he staged plays such as "Mikado's Garbage" and "Comedy Art".

Sezer, who made a name for herself by reaching the finals of Ses magazine's 1970 competition with Ünsal Emre, also appeared in front of the camera and took part in movies and TV series. Sezer, who is also known as a voice actor, worked as a news anchor on TRT for a while and reached a wide audience by voicing Bruce Willis characters.

His success in the art world was crowned by being deemed worthy of the "Praiseworthy" award by the Art Lovers Association for his performance in the play "Candida" in 1968, and by receiving the "Promising Artist of the Year" award in 1986.

During his acting career, he performed in classical and modern works such as "Blue Bird", "Candida", "Romeo and Juliet", "John Gabriel Borkman" at the Ankara State Theatre, and took part in productions such as "Ghosts Sonata", "Amadeus" and "I Promise" at the Istanbul State Theatre. This long and productive stage life has enabled him to be remembered as a versatile artist.

Alev Sezer died on September 3, 1997, shortly after being hospitalized with complaints of chronic diarrhea and vomiting. After his funeral prayer in Teşvikiye Mosque, he was buried in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
