Anadolu Efes is one of Turkey's leading beverage companies and produces beer, malt and non-alcoholic beverages as part of the Anadolu Group. The company does not limit its activities only to Turkey, but has spread over a wide geography from Russia to Central Asia, from Europe to the Middle East. Anadolu Group was founded by the รzilhan and Yazฤฑcฤฑ families in the early 1950s and grew rapidly in a short time, gaining holding status in 1969.
Anadolu Efes' adventure in Turkey began in 1969 and the company has maintained its market leader position throughout the country since the 1980s. The company, which started to expand abroad in the 1990s, became an important player in the global arena with this step. Further strengthening its presence in foreign markets thanks to the strategic partnership with SABMiller, Anadolu Efes took over SABMiller's operations in Russia and Ukraine with the agreement signed in 2012, becoming the second largest producer in the beer industry of these countries.
Today, Anadolu Efes operates as a global company that exports most of its production abroad. The company, which is Europe's sixth largest and the world's eleventh largest beer producer, ships products to more than 80 countries. The production facilities reach a total of 18, including 5 breweries in Turkey, 8 in Russia, 2 in Kazakhstan, and one brewery each in Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia, and are supported by 7 malt factories and 1 hop processing facility.
Anadolu Efes' portfolio includes both domestic and international brands. The company, which owns four domestic beer brands, is also the distributor of 12 different foreign beer brands in Turkey. The Efes series, which is among the most well-known of these brands, covers various types of beer produced since 1969. In addition to local brands such as Bomonti, Marmara and low-alcohol Varฤฑm, which was introduced in 2018, some brands whose production was discontinued in the past but left their mark shed light on the history of the company.
