Andaç Haznedaroğlu

Andaç Haznedaroğlu is a versatile artist born in Ankara on September 16, 1970. In addition to his roles as a director, screenwriter, producer and actor, he is also known for the production company he founded, Andaç Film Productions. In addition to his television series that reach wide audiences, he also stands out with his cinema projects that attract attention on international platforms.

In addition to popular TV series such as June Night, Dudaktan Kalbe, he appealed to a wide audience with Misafir (The Guest) and the Netflix production Have You Ever Seen a Firefly?.

Haznedaroğlu, who started his art life in Ankara, studied at the Department of Economics at Anadolu University in Eskişehir between 1987 and 1991. Then, he turned to theater and graduated from the same university's State Conservatory, Department of Theater Acting, between 1991 and 1995. He completed his master's degree in dramaturgy in 1995-1996.

In order to carry his professional development to the international arena, he attended studies on actor directing at GITIS (Russian Academy of Theater Arts) in Moscow in 1992. In the early years of his career, he worked as an assistant to director Osman Exam for six years, gaining important experience in the industry.

Although Haznedaroğlu stepped into the television world as an actor in front of the camera, he soon focused on his directorial career. He started his directorial career in the early 2000s with productions such as Dadı and Hürrem Sultan. Then, he became an important player in the television industry by directing dramatic series such as June Night, Dudaktan Kalbe and Samanyolu.

The artist, who turned to cinema, first attracted attention with the short film Son, which he wrote and directed in 2013. This film was shown in the Short Film Corner section of the Cannes Film Festival in 2015.

In 2017, he received international acclaim with his film Misafir (The Guest), which tells the story of a refugee who came to Istanbul during the Syrian civil war. The film won the Avni Tolunay Audience Award at the 54th International Antalya Film Festival. In 2021, it reached a global audience on the Netflix platform with the movie Have You Ever Seen a Firefly?, adapted from Yılmaz Erdoğan's work. In addition to his cinema studies, he gives lectures on "Actor Management" at various universities.
