Ayşegül İşsever

Ayşegül İşsever was born on September 20, 1962 in Ankara. He took part in different fields of art for many years, both as a theater and cinema actor and as a director. As of November 19, 2021, she has assumed the role of general artistic director of Istanbul City Theaters, becoming the third female artist to be appointed to this position in the history of this institution.

He grew up in an artistic family. While her mother, Leyla Erbaş, worked as a voice artist at Istanbul Radio, her father was in the tourism industry. Ayşegül İşsever, the eldest of four sisters, started living in Istanbul with her family from the age of six. The artist, who has been interested in acting since her childhood, completed primary and secondary school at Yıldız College and high school at Nişantaşı Girls' High School.

While he was continuing his higher education at Istanbul University State Conservatory Theater Department, he had his first stage experience by working at the Ali Atik-Ayşegül Atik Children's Theater in the same period.

He started acting professionally at Istanbul City Theaters in 1987. İşsever, who took part in various projects of the institution, also served in the Disciplinary Board. However, he left this position in 2015 due to developments regarding an expulsion process. In addition to acting, he also played many different characters in television series.

He appeared before the audience in productions such as "Resurrection: Ertuğrul Gazi", "Yaz's Story", "Love of My Life" and "Our Story". The artist, who also worked as a faculty member at Haliç University between 2014 and 2017, took on the position of stage director at Istanbul City Theaters in 2019.

Ayşegül İşsever, who is widely known for her performances in television series and theater plays, was appointed as general artistic director in 2021. She made her name in the history of the institution as the third female artist to undertake this task. In addition to taking part in theater plays, TV series and movies, he also contributed to the development of art by training young actors.
