Ayşen Aydemir

Ayşen Aydemir was born on January 1, 1964 in Istanbul. After graduating from Galatasaray High School, he enrolled in Boğaziçi University, Department of History. Later, while continuing his education at Mimar Sinan University Stage and Performing Arts Department, he went to the USA and studied theater in Santa Monica. He took part in the plays staged by Ortaoyuncular, one of the famous theater groups of the period.

He started hosting on Açık Radyo in 1996; During the same period, he also worked as a news anchor. In the same year, she played a heroin addict woman, one of the leading characters, in the movie Rövaşata in the Coffin, directed by Zeki Demirkubuz. The artist, who attracted attention in the world of cinema with this performance, contributed to the production that was deemed worthy of the Golden Orange Best Film Award with his role in the film.

Unfortunately, he died on September 26, 1999, at the age of 35, due to colon cancer, for which he had been treated for six years.

After her death, the story The Most Beautiful Girl of the City, which she sang on January 22, 1996, came to the fore again in her memory. After its new voice-over in 2000, the radio channel on which the story was broadcast was closed by RTÜK for 15 days. A 23-minute documentary titled Ayşen, directed by Hüseyin Cem Karataş, which deals with the artist's life story, was published in 2019.
