Cercle Brugge Koninklijke Sportvereniging is a football team established in Bruges, one of the historical cities of Belgium. They share the same field, the Jan Breydel Stadium, with their arch-rival Club Brugge, and this adds color to the football atmosphere of the city.
After relegating from the top league in 1997 and competing in the Belgian 2nd League for a few seasons, the team was promoted to the Pro League again in the 2003-04 season and has been in the league ever since. As of today, it is the 12th team in Belgium.
Cercle Brugge, which achieved its first major success in the 1910-1911 season, continued its championships in 1926-1927 and 1929-1930. In the second league, it won the championship in the 1937-1938, 1970-1971, 1978-1979, 2002-2003 and 2017-2018 seasons, and took second place in 1960-1961. The club won the Belgian Cup twice, in 1926โ1927 and 1984โ1985, and also reached the final five times. It came second in the Belgian Super Cup in the 1984-1985 and 1995-1996 seasons.
The team, which also takes part in the European stage as a representative from time to time, appeared in these tournaments until July 2010. The most up-to-date information about the squad is dated March 29, 2022.
