After Red Bull's acquisition
The club started using the names of sponsor companies since 1973; Although he used names such as Gerngross, Sparkasse, Casino, Wรผstenrot, Austria did not change his forename in any way. Red Bull, which also owns the New York Red Bulls club in Major League Soccer, acquired 100% of the shares of the club, which was in financial trouble in 2005, and changed the emblem and colors along with its name, turning the club into a newly established club.
Thus, Purple-White, which had been used since 1933, was replaced by Red-Blue in the energy drink can. Red Bull, which also intervened in the fan profile, halved the capacity of the stadium's cheap stands to watch matches while standing. Fans who opposed the sale of the club and the changes taking place in the club did not stop with protesting.
Fans who believed that their club was being genetically engineered by being overly commercialized, did so and founded the Austria Salzburg club on October 7, 2005. Just like them, they rebuilt their old and intact club with their own hands and started to fight from the bottom group. Purple-White 'core' Austria Salzburg, founded with the initiative of 800 members, managed to rise to the third division by becoming champions for four consecutive seasons.
