Hülya Karakaş, born in 1963, is a name known in the art world for both acting and directing. Karakaş, who studied at the Faculty of Forestry of Istanbul University, attracted attention with her documentary titled "Women of Istanbul, Sultans of the Stages", in which she examined the careers of female actors. This work was later published as a book by Yitik Ülke Publications.
Karakaş, who wrote two important theater plays throughout his artistic life, has works called "Shakespeare's Poems" and "Olur Such Things". Especially the play "Olur Such Things" was deemed worthy of an award in the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Sevda Şener Play Writing Competition.
