Born in March 1995 in Amilly in the Loiret region of France, İbrahim Coşkun started his life as the child of an immigrant Turkish family. His interest in football emerged at an early age; A serious football journey began in 2006 when he joined Auxerre's youth team. Coşkun, who showed himself in the defensive midfield position, immediately attracted the attention of his coaches with his talented and intelligent play.

While he played for Auxerre U-19 team until the 2012-13 season, he was transferred to Galatasaray's youth team with his performance in the Youth Champions League in 2013. He also had the opportunity to take part in the Galatasaray A Team, which was under the management of Roberto Mancini at that time.

İbrahim Coşkun's first big step professionally came at the preparation camp held in Antalya in January 2014. In this camp, which he attended together with Emre Can Coşkun, he had the chance to play in the friendly match against AFC Ajax. Coşkun, who joined the game in the second half of the match, started to make a name for himself with the goal he scored in the 67th minute.

The goal he scored in this match played in the THY Antalya Cup not only brought victory to his team, but also was the first goal of his career. In his statements after the match, the young football player thanked his coach and teammates and stated that he was very happy to share his goal joy with the fans. Coşkun, who was in the starting 11 in the final match against Celtic two days later, contributed to his team winning the cup.

İbrahim Coşkun, who scored his first goal with Galatasaray jersey, gained the appreciation of coach Roberto Mancini after this experience. In his statement about him, Mancini said, "Ibrahim is a very good kid. He and Emre Can are young talents that they need to develop. I can say that they are quality players." However, the reason why Coşkun could not play throughout this season was related to the training fee that had to be paid to the Auxerre club.

After payment of this fee in January 2014, the football player was given the opportunity to play for the remainder of the season. After Galatasaray paid 500 thousand euros to Auxerre as his training fee, he signed a professional contract for a symbolic fee of 500 lira per month.
