İbrahim Kurt

İbrahim Kurt, also known as Halil İbrahim Kurt, was born on January 1, 1940 in Istanbul. The master actor, who passed away in the same city on October 10, 2001, was one of the unforgettable names of the golden period of Turkish cinema.

Kurt, who completed his education at Kabataş Boys' High School, started working as a teller in a bank after his military service. However, he soon got bored with bureaucratic life and resigned. He stepped into the world of cinema with the guidance of his friend Kemal Kan. He was not at the center of the increasing sexual content movie craze in Yeşilçam in those years; On the contrary, he preferred to take part in different projects. During his time, he was also seen in foreign productions and became known in the international arena.

İbrahim Kurt, who spent his last years alone in his home in Sarıyer, passed away at the age of 61 as a result of a sudden heart attack on October 10, 2001. His body was buried in Çayırbaşı Cemetery and his loved ones sent him off to his final journey.

Kurt, who starred in nearly 70 films throughout his cinema career, includes the unforgettable projects Malkoçoğlu Cem Sultan in 1969, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, From Lips to Guns and Angry in 1971. Films such as Güneş were included. In the 1970s, he took on various roles in both local and foreign productions and left permanent traces in the memory of the audience.
