Kyle Martin Chandler (born September 17, 1965) is an American actor. He is best known for his roles as Deputy Jackson Lamb in Super 8 and Hamilton Jordan in Operation: Argo. On television, he is known for his roles in the productions Early Edition, Grey's Anatomy, Friday Night Lights. He won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2011.

Kyle Martin Chandler was born on September 17, 1965 in Buffalo, New York, USA. His father is a pharmaceutical representative and his mother is a dog breeder. Chandler, who spent his childhood years in Lake Forest, Illinois and Loganville, Georgia, was discovered by a talent scout while studying drama at the University of Georgia and dropped out before graduating to pursue a professional acting career.

Chandler, who started his career in television films in the late 1980s, had his first notable role as Jeff Metcalf in the critically acclaimed series "Homefront" (1991-1993), set in the post-World War II period. However, the production that brought him to international fame and made him known to the masses was the series "Early Edition" (1996-2000), in which he played the character of Gary Hobson, who mysteriously receives the next day's newspaper a day in advance. He won a Saturn Award for Best Actor for this role.

Chandler, who began to make a name for himself in cinema throughout the 2000s, appeared in supporting roles in big-budget films such as "King Kong" (2005) and "The Kingdom" (2007). But he reached the pinnacle of his career and his most iconic role with "Friday Night Lights" (2006-2011), which is considered by critics to be one of the best television series of all time.

He won great love from viewers and critics with this role, in which he played the character of Eric Taylor, the coach of a high school football team in Texas. This performance earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2011.
