The foundations of the football club known as Levante were laid in 1909 by young people living in one of the seaside districts of Valencia. The team, which closed shortly after its establishment, was reactivated in 1917 and continued its presence in local leagues. In 1939, it merged with Gimnรกstico FC, one of the city's other important teams, and formed the basis of today's Levante UD.
The club has appeared in Spain's second and third tier leagues for many years. He spent two seasons in the Segunda Divisiรณn and five seasons in the Tercera Divisiรณn. During this period, he attracted attention especially with his performance in the Copa del Rey, and he added another success to his history by reaching the quarter-finals of the tournament in 1935.
The colors and design of Levante FC's jersey have changed over the years, but it has always maintained its corporate identity. Following the merger, the club continued under the name Levante UD and gained an important place in the sports history of the city of Valencia.
