Mahmut Hekimoğlu

Mahmut Hekimoğlu, born in Adana on October 25, 1955, was a valuable name in the Turkish cinema and television world. He started his art career in 1973 with a competition organized by Ses Magazine, where he competed with many famous names. Names such as Mesut Engin, Cemil Şahbaz, Cem Erman also took part in this competition.

Hekimoğlu appeared before the audience and became known especially with his character Selim in the 1976 film Aile Şerefi and his role as Temel in the 1977 film Gülen Gözler. The artist, who starred in more than 80 movies and TV series throughout his career, made significant contributions to Turkish cinema.

Hekimoğlu, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2014, was taken to intensive care due to health problems on September 8, 2016. He passed away at the age of 60 on September 10, 2016, in the hospital where he was treated. After his funeral ceremony held at Teşvikiye Mosque on September 11, 2016, he was buried in Hendek district of Sakarya, according to his will.
