Malo

Malo is a Latin Rock band founded in California in 1972 by Jorge Santana, Arcello Garcia, Pablo Tellez and Richard Bean. Although they were influenced by the Beatles in the first years of their establishment, when they started to make a name for themselves, they quickly attracted attention by creating their own style.

The group made a big splash with their first album the year they stepped into the music world. Suavecito, written as a love poem by member Richard Bean, became the most notable song of the album. This song became so popular that it eventually became known as "The Chicano National Anthem." During this bright period, which lasted from 1972 to 1974, the band's other songs also reached large audiences in South and Central America.

Malo's musical journey came to a halt in 1974 when Jorge Santana left the band. The band did not release any albums for several years and remained silent until 1981. Even though they started releasing albums again after this date, they could neither regain their former popularity nor create new audiences.

When Malo's discography is examined, the ups and downs in the band's musical career are seen more clearly. The first two albums, Malo and Dos, released in 1972, are among the most important works in the band's history. Albums from this period such as Evolution and Ascension were also highly appreciated by the listeners. Malo V in 1981 and subsequent works bear the traces of the change the group went through.

The albums En Vivo/Live and Live, which also included concert recordings, allowed fans to experience the band's live performances.
