Multi Channel Developers

Multi Channel Developers (MCD) is a Turkish media company founded in 1998 by the Oflaz family. While it ensured that foreign channels were only broadcast in Turkey in the first years, over time it produced local versions of these channels and presented them to the audience. He played an important role in introducing international brands such as National Geographic, Eurosport, Eurosport 2, RTL, Sat.1, nโ€‘tv, Travel Channel, Performance and Hallmark to Turkish television.

A joint venture was established with Viacom in May 2005, when Nickelodeon started broadcasting in Turkey, and this cooperation expanded with the opening of MTV Turkey in October 2006. As the Turkish licensor of MTV Networks channels, MCD took on responsibilities in areas such as distribution, broadcasting, management, marketing, public relations and advertising.

The partnership ended in August 2011, when Viacom International Media Networks and MCD separated Nickelodeon and MTV Turkey channels.

Having acquired the Turkish production rights of Eurosport and Eurosport2 since December 2005, MCD subsequently presented Sci-Tech, SinemaTV, DiziTV, FilmClub, BBC Entertainment, BBC HD, BBC World, BBC Lifestyle, Euronews, Eurosport HD and many other channels to the audience in Turkey. After MTV and Nickelodeon transferred their rights in August 2011, Animex, an anime and children's channel, started broadcasting on the same frequencies; After the test period, it continued to serve under the name KidzTV in February 2012.

The film and TV series channel, which was taken from Oflaz Media Group's Filbox platform in May 2014 and named FilTV, continued its broadcasting life by transforming into Lifetime Turkey in cooperation with A+E Network in April 2016. In 2018, the Filbox digital platform and promotional channel FilTV were closed; In the same year, SinemaTV channels, which had been in service for many years, were also disbanded. The child-focused Kidz/Animez channel ended its broadcast in 2019.
