Mynet was Turkey's oldest Turkish internet platform, founded in 1999. Serving more than 26 million users at the end of 2019, the site has a reach of almost half of Turkish internet users and is among the 400 most visited internet companies in the world. The company's mission was to create an interactive platform that offers the internet services users need in an easy, effective, entertaining and economical way.
In line with this goal, it offers a wide range of content with more than twenty services such as news, finance, sports, automobile, games, magazine, women, cinema, fesme, trend and Mynet TV. Mynet's solution partners include both global and local brands such as Facebook, Google, NBC, BBC, Yandex and TRT.
Mynet, which stepped into the gaming industry with browser-based flash games, soon turned to multiplayer activities such as online okey, backgammon and piลti. In 2004, he collaborated with local producer Sobee and launched the games "Football Manager" and "Billiard Magic with Semih Saygฤฑner". In the same year, it continued its claim to be a pioneer in the industry by distributing the massive online role-playing game "Istanbul Doomsday Time".
Thanks to the agreement made with Boonty in 2006, many games from European companies began to be published on Mynet with Turkish explanations. In 2008, he distributed Cรฉidot's strategy game "Sovereign Symphony Online" in Turkey and turned to browser-based, turn-based strategy games. At that time, while the trend of playing games on social media was rising, Mynet started developing games on Facebook.
Mynet, whose monthly active players on Facebook reached 4 million by 2014, became known for its games with more than 10 million active players on web, mobile and Facebook platforms.
Mediazone, founded by Istanbul Portfรถy in December 2024, acquired Mynet's media and web games units. Details of the acquisition have not been shared with the public, but it is known that Mediazone has previously acquired large shares of Onedio and Maรงkolik, gathering Turkey's leading digital media platforms under one roof.
The company stated that its Mynet Media and web games unit reaches more than 45 million users. This merger aims to increase scalability, efficiency and quality of service offered to advertisers in the field of digital media. During the acquisition, Mynet Games, which hosts Mynet's mobile and Facebook games, LMS infrastructure and Vidobu company, which offers educational software, were not included; Mynet Games continues its activities under the name "Vuvy".
Mediazone CEO Kaan Kayabalฤฑ stated that he plans to take innovative steps in the field of digital media and advertising technologies.
