She started as a dancer with the exam she took in 1969 and quickly rose to the top at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet. Borak, who performed in many opera, ballet and operetta shows, received the title of "principal dancer" in 1974 and made a name for herself with her solo performances. Selçuk Borak, who not only danced throughout his artistic life but also improved himself in the field of choreography, rose to become the chief choreographer of the State Opera and Ballet. He expanded his experiences by taking part in many projects at home and abroad.

Selçuk Borak, who is married to ballet artist Buket Borak, has a daughter, Özge Borak, who is also a well-known actress, and their son, Selim Borak, continues his artistic journey as a principal dancer.
