Sinan Engin

Sinan Engin is a Turkish football commentator, manager and former football player born in Trabzon on 4 November 1964. Engin, who started his career in Beşiktaş's infrastructure, started his professional career by being promoted to the A team in 1982. Engin, who played his first match against Antalyaspor, played in the match that Beşiktaş won 6-0.
Engin, who scored his first goals with Beşiktaş in the 1985-86 season, also won the only championship of his career. The team, which won the Navy Cup and the President's Cup that season, continued its success. Engin reached his peak in the following season. The football player, who gained the trust of coach Milos Milutinovic, played in 34 league matches and became the assist king with 8 goals and 11 assists.
He also represented Beşiktaş in the Champion Clubs' Cup and was in the starting 11 in both matches against Dinamo Kyiv.
However, Engin's bad luck began when Gordon Milne took over the team in 1987. Milne started to give Engin less chance, and Engin, who gave him the chance to play in a league match at the beginning of the 1989-90 season, was then loaned to the 2nd League team Kuşadasıspor. Engin showed a successful performance here, scoring 6 goals in 13 matches.
Engin, who left Beşiktaş in 1990, played for Adana Demirspor, MKE Ankaragücü and Sarıyer in the Super League. Engin, who reached the Turkish Cup final with Ankaragücü in the 1990-91 season, took part in the team that won the Prime Ministry Cup, although he could not win the cup. In the 1991-92 season, he broke his own record by scoring 12 goals in a season with Ankaragücü jersey. He ended his football career in Sarıyer in 1994.
In terms of his national team career, Engin played for Türkiye U-18 and U-21 teams a total of 14 times. After his active football life, Engin started his coaching and managerial career and worked in Kuşadasıspor, Boluspor and Ankaraspor respectively. Engin, who was appointed as the manager of Beşiktaş in 2001, played an important role in Beşiktaş's 100th anniversary championship in the 2002-03 season.
However, he parted ways with the club in 2004 due to phone conversations with Alaattin Çakıcı. He returned to his position as manager in the 2007-08 season and served throughout the 2008-09 season.
