ŠK Slovan Bratislava, one of the most well-known football clubs in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, has an important place in the country's football history. In fact, it is the third team among Central European teams to win the championship in a major European cup tournament.
The club became the champion by embargoing the first three seasons of the Slovakian League, which was established in 1993. However, in the following two seasons, they lost the championship cup to 1. FC Košice. Although they rose to the top again in 1999, after this victory the club experienced serious financial difficulties and had to sell its best players.

This well-established club has enjoyed the championship in the Slovak League 15 times. He also won the Slovak Cup 17 times and the Slovak Super Cup 7 times. Slovan Bratislava, which achieved significant success during the Czechoslovakia period, lifted the cup 8 times in the 1. fotbalová liga and 5 times in Československý pohár. His biggest success in the European arena was winning the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in the 1968-69 season.
