Supremacy 1914

Supremacy 1914 is a browser-based real-time strategy game about the World War I period, developed by Bytro Labs and published by Bigpoint Games. In the game, players take on the management of different countries and fight against both artificial intelligence opponents and real players. Maintaining economic balance, forming military units, managing regional developments and establishing strategic alliances are vital in the game.

Although the servers are mainly based in Germany, players from countries such as the USA, Spain, the UK and Japan also actively participate. This game, preferred by more than a thousand players every day, was awarded the "Best Browser Game of the Year" award by Game Genetics in 2009.

The game map has a structure where regions are connected to each other and regions with sea routes require the construction of ports. While uncontrolled countries are managed by artificial intelligence, the places of players who are inactive for a long time are filled by AI over time. While battles typically take between four and eight weeks to complete, map size and players' moves can significantly affect this time.

The colors of the countries remain constant on the map and the player can easily keep track of troops and allied countries.

While the military structure initially consisted of only infantry units, tanks and mechanized soldiers could be produced with the development of the industrial facilities of the regions. Although overseas operations are not possible without ships, it is possible to fight in wide geographies thanks to railway howitzers and armored vehicles.

Orders are given on the map and troops move in real time. The regions contain various resources such as grain, fish, iron, wood, coal, oil and natural gas. These resources are consumed or produced daily depending on the structures built and the needs of the army. Barracks increase troop production while reducing grain production; Workshops allow the construction of mechanized units, and when converted into factories, they contribute to the production of armored vehicles and ships.

The morale system plays a critical role in the game mechanics. Low morale can lead to regional rebellions or even the transition of that region to a rival country. At the same time, the morale level directly affects the combat performance of soldiers and the regional production rate. Factors that determine the morale level include relations with neighboring countries, infrastructure investments, how long the region has been under control and its distance from the capital.

Through diplomacy, players can declare war, form alliances, or impose trade embargoes. While you can communicate with other players via the in-game messaging system, the morale levels of rival countries can be lowered and confidential information can be accessed through sent agents. When these agents are caught, they can be destroyed in retaliation. Diplomatic maneuvers stand out as an important element that increases the strategic depth of the game.
