World Tรผrk, formerly Ege TV, was founded in Izmir in 1994 under the name Kanal Ege and initially served as a regional news channel. It was founded by Yaลar Holding, but when the holding withdrew from media business in 2001, the channel was taken over by Bakฤฑoฤlu Holding. Ege TV, broadcasting on the KabloTV platform (only in Izmir), stopped broadcasting on May 1, 2017, and all its technical equipment, satellite transmitter and frequency were donated to Ege University Media Application and Research Center (EGEMM) by Cem Bakฤฑoฤlu.
Two years later, Adem Erdaฤฤฑ, the owner of Sivas-based Kanal 58, purchased Ege TV and reopened the channel on November 15, 2019. Due to the political developments on December 1, 2021, the channel was withdrawn from Tรผrksat 4A and started broadcasting only over the internet. However, on December 10, 2021, it returned to Tรผrksat 4A, and as of January 1, 2022, its logo changed to World Tรผrk with a 10-second transition, and its official name became World Tรผrk on January 10, 2022. The channel tried to take part in this field by switching to the news format.
In the first quarter of 2022, on April 1, Tรผrksat 4A broadcasting was interrupted and broadcasting continued only over the internet. On October 1, 2022, the channel returned to Tรผrksat 4A using the frequency of the closed Channel 65 and started to broadcast jointly in terms of content. However, on June 1, 2023, Tรผrksat 4A broadcasting was stopped again, and as of this date, terrestrial and internet broadcasting has been made only in the Sivas region.
On March 25, 2024, the channel started broadcasting again on Tรผrksat 4A, but currently both satellite and internet broadcasting have been suspended.
