Yılmaz Şahin

Yılmaz Şahin is a Turkish television screenwriter. He is known for writing the second half of Magnificent Century and its sequel Magnificent Century Kösem.

He was born on October 10, 1978 in Istanbul. He studied theater at Istanbul University. He entered television by writing scripts; One of his first important works was the TV series Kavak Yelleri, which was published between 2007 and 2010.

Magnificent Century and beyond

He joined the treatment team of Magnificent Century in 2012. After the death of Meral Okay, the creator of the series, he took over the script from the 57th episode and continued the story through the drafts left by Okay. After the series ended in 2014, he became the screenwriter of Magnificent Century Kösem (2015-2017), which was about the life of Kösem Sultan and was broadcast on FOX.

In the following years, he also turned to genres other than period drama. The crime drama Ramo and the detective story Arıza, broadcast on Show TV, appeared on the screen in 2020. Then he took part in the scripts of the TV series Hakim and Şahane Hayat (2023-2024). Jealousy, which started in 2025, is among the productions he wrote.

He has been one of the active screenwriters in the Turkish TV series industry for a long time, with his works ranging from historical TV series to contemporary family and crime stories.
