What is Clash Royale?
Clash Royale is a real-time multiplayer card and tower-defence game by Supercell, set in the Clash universe. Players collect and upgrade cards of troops, spells and defences. It launched worldwide in early March 2016; the Google Play listing dates to 1 March 2016.
How to play
Each player brings an eight-card deck, holds four cards at a time and spends regenerating elixir to deploy them. Matches last three minutes, with overtime on a draw; trophies unlock new arenas and cards, and clans let players donate cards.
Platforms and business model
Available on Android and iOS, and on Windows via Google Play Games. Free to play with in-app purchases including random items. Rated PEGI 7 on Google Play (Turkey) and 9+ on the App Store, where it is an Editors' Choice.
Turkish language and Turkey
The App Store lists Turkish and the Google Play Turkey description is in Turkish. No official information on Turkish voice-over or a Turkish server was found.
Why it became popular
It packed chess-like tension into three minutes, encouraged deck experimentation, and proved watchable enough to support creators and official Supercell world championships.
