Arapgir Postası

Arapgir Postası is a local political newspaper that was founded on June 1, 1954 and has been published weekly since then. The slogan of the newspaper, whose founders are Nevzat Sezer and A. Vahap Aydınlar, is "Bridge from Home to Foreign Land". The newspaper, which was printed in different printing houses for the first six months, started production in its own printing house as of January 1955; Initially, it was printed with letterpress printing and since 1992, it has been printed with offset technique.

Arapgir is a region in Malatya province, neighboring districts such as Kemaliye, Divriği, Çemişgezek, Ağır, Arguvan, Hekimhan and Keban. The wave of migration to big cities since the 1920s brought with it problems such as population decline and lack of communication. This situation revealed the necessity of a news medium for migrating families to maintain their ties with their villages and paved the way for the establishment of Arapgir Post.

The newspaper's publishing life reached a turning point with the death of founder and editor-in-chief Nevzat Sezer on December 9, 1973. His son Kamuran Sezer took over his father's responsibility and continued Arapgir Post uninterrupted for more than 50 years, and tried to carry his father's legacy to the future, seeing the newspaper as a trust.

In terms of content, local news is at the forefront; There is a limited number of news from surrounding provinces and districts. The newspaper has made a comprehensive archive of all developments of Arapgir in fields such as culture, tradition, poetry, puzzles and sports. The newspaper, which continues its distribution by mail both at home and abroad through sales and subscription systems, also draws attention with Kamuran Sezer's sarcastic take on local issues in his "Pinch" column.

In addition to Fethi Gemuhluoğlu's writing staff for a while, A.
