According to the definition of the United Nations, the nine countries that make up Central Africa are Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Sรฃo Tomรฉ and Prรญncipe. These countries came together within the framework of the "Economic Union of Central African States" (ECCAS).
The climate of this region is largely humid tropical; Hot and humid weather prevails throughout the year. A tropical savanna climate occurs in both the north and south of the Congo basin; These areas have moderate temperatures and alternate with distinct dry and rainy seasons. While a colder climate prevails in the mountainous areas, the desert and steppe climate prevails in the south of the region.
