Emre Şen

Emre Şen is a pianist born in Ankara on April 8, 1973, known as the "evil angel of the piano" in the international arena and known as "Emre Chopin" among musicians. He is currently a lecturer in the Piano Department at Bilkent University, Faculty of Music and Performing Arts.

Emre Şen, who took his first steps in his musical journey at TED College in Ankara, started his professional piano education at Hacettepe University State Conservatory. His teachers in Ankara were Prof. Nimet Karatekin and Prof. In addition to Ersin Onay, she improved herself by working with world-class master pianists such as Marcella Crudeli in Rome, Oxana Yablonskaya in New York and Kevin Kenner in London.

The artist, who started her piano education at the age of 13 by taking private lessons from Nuriye Arıkan, attended the part-time program of Hacettepe University Conservatory in 1986. For a year, Prof. He became a student of Karatekin.

Professor at Bilkent University since 1987. He continued to work with Ersin Onay and won first place in the Istanbul Mozart Interpretation Competition, which he participated in at the age of 17. With this success, he had the opportunity to take lessons from Polish pedagogue Andrej Jasinski at the Salzburg Mozarteum Summer School with a scholarship from the Austrian Cultural Office. During his eight-year education at Bilkent, he performed various concerts and recitals with BASO.

The First Prize of the Fifth Rome International Piano Competition, which he won in 1995, significantly advanced Emre Şen's career in Europe. The artist, described by the Italian press as the "evil angel of the piano", was accepted to the piano department of Paris École Normale de Musique with a scholarship in the same year.

While studying here with Italian pianist Marcella Crudeli, he completed the school's "Diplôme Supérieur de Concertiste" program with first place in the piano and chamber music branches. Two years later, he was again honored with the first prize by the Albert Roussel Committee in the selection held among the winners of the same program.

Emre Şen was born on August 29, 1981 in Istanbul, Türkiye.
