Galip Boransu was born on February 14, 1950 in the Yeşilköy district of Istanbul and died of a heart attack in the same city on February 1, 2011. The artist, who started his musical career in the piano-solfeggio department at the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory in 1956, had his first professional experience with the Ozanlar group in 1968.

In 1974, after meeting his high school friends Mazhar Alanson and Fuat Güner, he became involved in studio work on piano, organ, vibraphone and vocals. In the same period, he met Özkan Uğur. A few of the group's English songs were broadcast as "riddles" on TRT, and inspired by these successes, the group's name was determined as Tipu Beşlisi.

The clips shot for songs such as "Heyecanlı" and "Hop Sit, Hop Kalk" created a great impact, especially since the song "Heyecanlı" was one of the first clips of Turkish pop music. After Ayhan Sicimoğlu went to Europe, Seyyal Taner joined the group as a vocalist and performed in the famous casinos of the period.

While he was working with the group that Şerif Kaptanoğlu planned to establish in 1975, he joined Turkey as Grup Karma with Özkan Uğur and Cengiz Teoman in 1978 with the song "Imkansız", for which Dilek Ertek wrote the lyrics. The group achieved success in the Eurovision Türkiye finals. His works "Impossible" and "Happy Muftu Gülenler" were published in 45 copies.

After Grup Karma's paths were interrupted for various reasons, he started working as a sole pianist at the request of Ferdi Özbeğen in 1978. While making food and dance music in restaurants, he released the cassettes "Galip Boransu 1" and "Galip Boransu 2" in 1979 and 1981, and the album "Dosta Veda" with the contributions of Yusuf Tümley and Halis Tümley in 1984.

He worked in the tourism sector since the early 1990s and sang with piano accompaniment at the Galata Tower for about ten years.

Galip Boransu, who passed away due to a heart attack at his home on February 1, 2011, is remembered as an artist who left his mark in different fields of Turkish music.
