Gülor Winery, considered the pioneer of boutique winemaking in Türkiye, was established in 1993 with the partnership of Güler Sabancı and Orhan Türker. This initiative has the title of being the country's first modern boutique wine producer.

Five years after the seedlings met the soil, that is, in 1998, Gülor attracted attention with its Bordeaux-style wines, which had not been seen before in Türkiye. Güler Sabancı summarizes the company's philosophy with the desire to always remain a boutique manufacturer by focusing on quality rather than large-scale production. This approach reflects their effort to achieve the highest level of quality in every product they make.

This business, which was initially established as a hobby, gained a professional identity over time. Expanding its product range with the experience and support of Onologist Nicolas Vivas, Research Director of the Molecular Sciences Institute of Bordeaux University, whose family has been engaged in winemaking in France for generations, Gülor has assumed a fully professional structure since 2010.

In this process, it imported select grape seedlings such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon blanc and Merlot from France, and Sangiovese and Montepulciano from Italy, and carried out the comprehensive production of these varieties for the first time in Türkiye. The natural structure and climate of the region where the vineyards in Şarköy, Tekirdağ are located, are likened to the terroir of the famous Bordeaux region of France.

Gülor's contributions to Turkish winemaking are quite diverse. The modern grape growing techniques they implemented for the first time in the region helped the surrounding farmers improve their production quality. According to Güler Sabancı, when establishing their vineyards, they used support rods (wire training system) to prevent the grape vines from lying on the ground, and neighboring farmers who saw this innovation adopted the same method and pioneered the recovery of the vineyards in the region.

In addition, they created new and original wines by blending (coupling) foreign grapes with our local grapes. They still maintain their title as the company that produces Öküzgözü and Malbec blends, which are the only ones in the world. Today, Gülor carries out its production with 100% renewable energy and entirely female employees.

Its wines have been awarded many awards in prestigious international competitions such as the International Wine Challenge, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and Wine & Spirits USA.
