Hayrettin Karaman is a theologian and writer born in รorum in 1934. After completing his primary education at Konya Imam-Hatip High School, he graduated from Istanbul Higher Islamic Institute in 1963. After his graduation, Karaman started working as an assistant at the same institution in 1965. He presented his thesis titled "Ijtihad in Islamic Law from the Beginning to the Fourth Century" and started working as a fiqh teacher.
When the school turned into the Faculty of Theology in the 1980s, he first obtained the title of associate professor and then professor.
Although he retired at the beginning of 2001, he worked as a columnist in Yeni ลafak newspaper until 2019. In his articles, it was noteworthy that he gave messages on the theme of "divine justice" regarding the appointment of his son ฤฐhsan Karaman as the rector of Medeniyet University and the subsequent developments.
With the dismissal of ฤฐhsan Karaman in 2019, his son-in-law Prof. Dr. The appointment of Ahmet Saim Rehber as the rector of Bursa Uludaฤ University was also on the agenda. In 2013, he was elected as the representative of the Wise People Committee. Karaman's columns were also published in Gerรงek Hayat and Eฤitim-Science magazines; He also has a website containing his fatwas, articles and writings.
In December 2019, he announced that he would quit his columns due to health problems, and he currently serves on the advisory committee of Tรผrkiye Finans and Vakฤฑf Katฤฑlฤฑm Banks.
Karaman's works include textbooks, theses and popular publications in the field of theology and law. In addition to her academic works such as "Arabic Sarf-Nahiv and Arabic Texts" (with Bekir Topaloฤlu), "Fiqh Usรปlรผ", "Hadith Usรปlรผ", she also has books that appeal to a wider readership, such as "Harams and Halals in Our Daily Life", "Women and Family in Islam" and "History of Islamic Law". He also wrote works in the genre of poetry, interviews and memoirs.
Some of his views have created controversy throughout his publication life.
